This work envisages to demonstrate how the knowledge of some determining factors in the behavior of the energy intensity of a given production system (changes un products and / or technology, cost of energy, the role of the market, etc) contribute to a better interpretation of the post evolution of the energy intensity and to yield important parameters for the realization of future projections with greater consistence.
