Thyroid cancer after radiation exposure
Description
The main results of nine recent studies and one analysis published eleven years before on thyroid cancer risk after radiation exposure are summarized here. The results of the common analysis of live cohorts with external exposure and the ecologic study after the Chernobyl accident for the EAR and also for the ERR are very well in agreement. Besides of that, however, there are also controversial statements. Further findings emerged in particular studies only and require therefore further investigations. (orig.)
