Study on advancement of in vivo counting using mathematical simulation

Description
On radiation protection, advancement of in vivo counting was studied by some simulation methods, which consisted of calibration method of in vivo counter, correction method for whole body counting, uncertainties in estimated body burdens of cesium-137 by whole-body counter. The whole-body counter using NaI(TI) scintillation counter is difficult to analyze many nuclear species. Ge semiconductor detector was developed to solve the above problem and proved to obtain good results by application to 137Cs and 40K from human body. Moreover, Voxel Phantom was developed to represent the individual body construction and used to evaluate calculation results of specific absorbed fractions in it. The results showed better values than water block phantom. (S.Y.)
