The changes of ultra-weak chemiluminescence of irradiated materials

  • 1. Zhejiang Univ., Hangzhou (China). Inst. of Nuclear Agricultural Sciences

Description

Ultra-weak chemiluminescence of dry materials can be changed by irradiation, which can be detected by Ultra-weak chemiluminescence Detector. Ultra-weak chemiluminescence of tested food samples can be divided into four types: (1) a peak of ultra-weak chemiluminescence of irradiated samples appeared by adding detecting solution; (2) no changes before and after irradiation treatment; (3) a peak of ultra-weak chemiluminescence can be observed whether the sampled treated by irradiation or not; (4) ultra-weak chemiluminescence can be induced by irradiation, but quenched by detecting solution. Some of the properties of ultra-weak chemiluminescence can be used in the qualitative determination of food irradiation. (authors)
