Study of the conversion electron and XPS spectra of radioactive 57Co sources
Description
K and L conversion electron and X-ray photoelectron spectra for a radioactive 57Co source were measured using two electrostatic spectrometers. The structure of the source and its effect on the emitted electrons were investigated. The effect of additional evaporated gold layers on the L conversion lines was examined, too. The observed line shapes were reasonably described by means of Monte Carlo simulations. The influence of the source backing material on the K-14 line was studied
