Orano Recycle - Annual environment monitoring report of the Orano la Hague site - 2021 Edition

Orano transforms nuclear materials so that they can be used to support the development of society, first and foremost in the field of energy. The group offers products and services with high added value throughout the entire nuclear fuel cycle, from raw materials to waste treatment. This report presents, first, the Orano la Hague facility (site, regulatory framework and activities) and the actions implemented for the monitoring of the environmental impact of the site: water samplings, gaseous and liquid effluents monitoring. Then, it presents the detailed results of the radioactivity and physico-chemical monitoring of terrestrial and marine ecosystems and of food products with their dosimetric impacts on reference groups. Significant deviations and incidents that occurred during the past year are reported. Orano's environment protection policy is recalled at the end of the document. A voluminous appendix presents: the local information commission of the facility, the meteorology and climatology of the site, the radiological monitoring, the periodical controls and maintenance, the effluents forecast, the methodology used for the assessment of radioactive effluents impact on reference groups, the environmental laboratory, the environmental management system, the search for - and the abatement of - hazardous compounds in waters, and the detailed results of the measurements performed in seawater, waste waters, rain water and aquifers
