Domain structure of Gd-Co amorphous films in nonuniform temperature field

Description
The problem on the response of domain structure in ferrimagnetic films to nonuniform stationary temperature fields is under study. Domain structure is investigated in an amorphous Gd-Co film in which plane a central symmetrical temperature field is induced. It is shown that domain structure qualitatively and quantitatively reflects the intensity and the symmetry of the temperature field produced by a point heat source. The parameter of labyrinth domain structure and the coercivity of domain walls are pointed out to be basic quantitative factors determining the temperature gradient. 9 refs., 10 figs
