In-house fabrication of accessories for radiation therapy
- 1. Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Melbourne (Australia)
Description
In the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute there are 9 LINACS, 2 LDR Selectrons (two-patient units), one LDR microselectron, one HDR microselectron, one DXRT unit and two SXRT units in use for routine radiation therapy. For designing new techniques or when modifying techniques, a number of accessories may be required. They have found it easy and less expensive to design and fabricate with in-house facilities
