Proton multiplicity fluctuations in narrow azimuthal angle intervals for inelastic collisions of p, d, and 12C nuclei with propane and tantalum at a momentum of 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon
- 1. Institute of Nuclear Physics, Tashkent (Uzbekistan)
Description
Proton multiplicity fluctuations in nucleus-nucleus interactions at a momentum of 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon are investigated using the method of factorial moments. In collisions of light nuclei, the moment is a nonmonotonic function of the azimuthal angle δ var-phi. This dependence cannot be obtained within the framework of the cascade-evaporation model. Any dynamical effects disappear in interactions of C and Ta nuclei, and fluctuations turn out to be of purely statistical nature. 6 refs., 4 figs., 1 tab
