Description
The paper investigates the effect of carbide and intermetallic phases on the stability of a polygonal structure formed by mechanical and heat treatment. The steel investigated was an austenitic heat resisting steel-1Kh14M18B containing 2 and 8% W. The effect of mechanical and heat treatment in more evident in austenitic steels with an intermetallic hardening, as the polygonal structure forming in these steels is more stable than in steels with a carbide hardening
