Difference in partial inelasticity coefficient Ksub(p0) for the πFe, pFe interactions at energies of 0.5-5 TeV

Description

The data on nuclear electromagnetic cascades (NEC) registered in πFe and pFe interactions at 0.5-5 TeV energies have been analyzed. The processing of experimental NEC has been performed using the technique based on the parabolic interpolation of the energy absorption function in a cascade. The NEC reconstruction on nucleons and pions in the energy range of 0.4-10.0 TeV has been performed. The analysis of calculation NEC of primary pions and protons with the fixed energy and at different values of the inelastic charge-exchange coefficient of generating pions reveals that differences due to different at fixed energies and input values of partial inelasticity coefficients Ksub(πsup(0)) in cascades from pions and nucleons are large and can be experimentally tested in a homogeneous ionization calorimeter. The dependence of Ksub(πsup(0)) on the energy of generating hadron has been presented with provision for systematic and statistic errors. It has been noted that total errors of partial coefficients measured using the above technique are considerably below than usual values in cosmic rays and are correlated with accelerating ones
