Description
Magneto-reflectivity spectra are studied to determine giant spin spliting (GSS) of excitonic transitions in a set of quantum wells Cd1-x Mnx Te/CdTe/Cd1-x Mnx Te of different widths (Lw=12,28,60 and 120 A). Paramagnetic enhancement of the excitonic state GSS in quantum wells is observed. Corrections to the GSS in the quantum well due to both a) reduction in the number of nearest neighbouring magnetic ions with strong antiferromagnetic coupling at the CdTe/Cdx Mn1-x Te interfaces and b) mixing of materials of CdTe and Cd1-x Mnx Te in the interface region are calculated. It is shown that a relative role of the paramagnetic enhancement increases as quantum well width rises
