Application of distorted wave method to an analysis of deuteron breakup reaction

  • 1. Chuvashskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Cheboksary (USSR)

Description

The distorted wave method is applied for analyzing deuteron splitting by atomic nuclei at 10-30 MeV. Both the Coulomb and nuclear fields of target-nuclei have been taken account of. Satisfactory agreement of the calculated cross sections with the experimental data are obtained. A deuteron has been shown to split predominantly in a state with the 2-3 MeV energy of the relative motion of nucleons. The part of the Coulomb forces in the deuteron splitting is studied and the partial breakup cross sections are analyzed in detail
