Improvement and extension of RIBERMAG R.10.10 B performances

Description

Performance improvement of the Ribermag R.10.10.B had to be achieved. Five points have been studied. The automatic injection has to be reviewed and deepened. For the control automation, the system using an independent microprocessor seems to be the good solution. The development of the scanning interface is almost ended. The source regeneration method by gold deposit is already commercialized; a plug in source design exists. At last, important progress have been brought to quadrupolar filter fabrication, and allow now, to have a good resolution up to mass 1500

Abstract (French)

Il etait absolument necessaire d'ameliorer les performances du R.10.10.B, afin de maintenir la competitivite de notre appareil sur le marche. Pour cela, l'injection automatique doit etre revue et approfondie; pour l'automatisation des reglages le systeme developpe utilisant un microprocesseur independant semble etre la bonne solution. La mise au point de l'interface a balayage est pratiquement terminee. La methode de regeneration de la source par depot d'or est deja commercialisee; un prototype de source enfichable existe. Enfin des progres importants ont ete apportes a la fabrication des filtres quadripolaires, et permettent desormais d'avoir une bonne resolution jusqu'a la masse 1500, ce qui nous place en tete pour les etudes des molecules lourdes par DIC (Desorption en Ionisation Chimique)
