NCP
Description
This paper reports that on Dec. 21, 1988, EPA published proposed revisions to the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan. The 127 pages of text contain EPA's proposed framework for implementing response actions under CERCLA, as amended by SARA in 1986. As the revised NCP will dictate the nature and extent of response actions at the thousands of CERCLA sites and serve as a reference point for other cleanups, the EPA proposals have profound legal and financial implications for industry, and for the cleanup of this nation's hazardous waste sites
