Plasma heating
Description
The Energy Research Laboratory and JAERI report on Neutral-Beam Injection (NBI) Heating. Technical development of Lower-Hybrid Radio-Frequency. (LHRF) and Current Drive are programs discussed, and are accompanied by a schematic diagram of the prototype NBI for JT-60, and a figure of the front shape of the waveguide launcher for LHRF. Ion-cyclotron-range frequency heating is reviewed and the top view of the test stand for the launcher of JT-60 radio frequency heating is given. Electron-cyclotron resonance heating produces target plasmas for additional heating in devices such as the GAMMA-10 tandem mirror, and a scheme of electron-cyclotron wave injection from inside and outside the torus is shown
