Automatic spark counter for measurement of high track densities in SSNTDs

Description

For the evaluation of SSNTDs applied for neutron detection spark counters are frequently used. The relatively low upper limit of the measuring range is disadvantageous for the application of spark counters. It is possible, by using an electrode in the form of a cylinder, to avoid electrically insulated islands in the thin aluminium electrode. For this reason spark densities can be registered up to about 5x108 counts/m2. An automatic spark counter developed on this basis is described. (orig.)
