Epithermal neutron activation analysis with Nigeria research reactor

Description
Epithermal neutron activation analysis is optimised using Nigeria Research Reactor-1. Data are given for 6 elements using cadmium as sheilding. Cadmium ratios calculated from literature values of resonance integrals are compared with experimental values. All elements are shielded more effectively by cadmium. Advantage factors for the following elements: I, Br, Cl, K, Mn and Na under cadmium shield are given. Cadmium shield are of particular practical value for rapid instrumental analysis. Concentrations of the mentioned elements is hereby re-examined and compared with certificate values. The results obtained showed good precision.
