Grand unification and cosmology
Description
Four topics are treated, wherein the cosmology-GUT interface seems particularly active. The first is fermion spectroscopy; second, baryon number generation in grand unified theories; third, dissipative processes very early in the Universe, due to the relatively long mean free times of elementary particles possibly providing forms of viscosity and thermal conductivity; fourth, the cosmological density of grand unified monopoles. Conclusions refer to a flourishing cosmic connection between grand unification and cosmology
