Description
Clinical usefullness of MRI and angiography was evaluated in a case of spinal AVM. MRI was successful in defining the nidus and the paraspinal draining veins of the AVM, and its intramedullary location. Though selective intra-arterial DSA reduced the examination time and the contrast dosage in spinal angiography, the blood supply to the normal cord from one of the feeders could not be demonstrated. Direct magnification angiography is necessary before embolization or surgery of spinal AVM. (author)
