Description
Coal suspended in liquid sodium at 450 to 5500C reacts with hydrogen to form methane. The methane partial pressure in chemical equilibrium with the carbon activity in the sodium depends on the mass and surface of the suspended coal. The hydrogen partial pressure and the temperature within the range applied in the tests do not shown any pronounced effect. (author)
