Refuelling system for a nuclear reactor with a reactor core showing (presenting) a pebble bed of spherical fuel elements
Description
A facility is proposed which allows to sort out fuel elements with defects, releasing large amounts of fission products, from the refuelling cycle of a pebble bed reactor. According to the invention, between the charging and the discharging tube a furnace is arranged heating up again the cooled-down elements to reactor operational temperatures, thereby possibly releasing fission products. A measuring chamber permits detection of the failed elements which then may be removed. (UWI)

Es wird eine Vorrichtung vorgeschlagen, die es erlaubt, aus dem Beschickungskreislauf eines Kugelhaufen-Kernreaktors Brennelemente, die Beschaedigungen aufweisen und die daher hohe Mengen an gasfoermigen Spaltprodukten abgeben, auszusortieren. Erfindungsgemaess wird zwischen dem Entladerohr und dem Beschickungsrohr ein Ofen angeordnet, der die abgekuehlten Brennelement wieder auf die Reaktorbetriebstemperatur aufheizt (sodass sie gegebenenfalls Spaltstoffe abgeben). Eine Messkammer erlaubt die Feststellung fehlerhafter Elemente, die dann aussortiert werden koennen. (UWI)Files
