Environmental issues: a Colorado viewpoint

Creators

  • 1. Colorado Dept. of Health, USA

Description

Due to the legacy of the past generation of inactive uranium mill tailings sites, a number of significant areas of concern have been identified that must be precluded from reoccurrence. Legislatively PL 95-604 (UMTRCA) seeks to solve some of the problems. The practicality of the matter rests with cooperative efforts between those who are regulated and those regulating and the thoroughness of the review process. Colorado's attempt to adequately address these matters is briefly reviewed
