Description

Magnetic after-effect measurements are made in the temperature range 30 to 300 K on a series of dilute FeNi alloys with varying Ni concentrations (100 at ppm <= C/sub Ni/ <= 1.0 at%) following 3 MeV electron-irradiation at 44 K. The resulting relaxation spectra are very similar to those obtained on identical samples after low-temperature neutron-irradiation; each relaxation peak in the electron-irradiated sample has its analogue in the neutron-irradiated specimen. The results are discussed in terms of impurity-trapping of interstitials at substitutionally dissolved Ni atoms. (author)
