127I NQR study of yttrium triodide and its compounds formed in systems with alkali metal iodides

Description
Structures of yttrium iodide compounds with alkali metals were investigated by NQR method. It was established that crystal structures of holmium and yttrium triiodides were similar. Correlation of structures of their binary compounds was conducted. These structures change as ionic radius of alkali metal decreases: from flattened octahedron to low-symmetrical polyhedron through slightly distorted octahedron
