Experimental research of the NN scattering with polarized particles at the polarized deuteron energies 14-16 MeV

Description

The purpose of the project is to study three-nucleon interactions using 14-16 MeV polarized neutron beam in conjunction with polarized deuteron target. Spin dependent total cross section differences ΔσL and ΔσT will be measured in the energy range where there are no experimental data, with sufficient accuracy to check the contribution of the three-nucleon forces. In the test run, the obtained deuteron vector polarizations have been P- = (-39.5 ± 2) % and P+ = (32.9 ± 2) %. The proposed experiment is the continuation of the preceding measurements of the same quantities in the np scattering at the Van de Graaff accelerator of Charles University. (author)
