Specific features of ion-implanted carbon accumulation in iron-alpha
Description
The process of carbon accumulation in iron-alpha under 30 keV C+ ion irradiation within dose range of (0.1-8)x1018 cm-2 was experimentally studied. The irradiation was carried out in vacuum of (1-3)x10-3 Pa at temperature of 450 K and ion current of 10-100 muAxcm-2. According to the data obtained the conclusion is made that accumulation and redistribution of the ion-implanted carbon in iron-alpha at temperatures of 300-450 K are determined by ion-induced diffusion and segragation processes of implanted atoms, substance transfer along the target surface and formation of a thin carbon protection film
