Evaluation of the background integral in complex angular momentum theories of elastic scattering
Description
In complex angular momentum theories of elastic scattering, the background integral has previously been approximated by the semiclassical expression for repulsive scattering from the core of the potential. A derivation of this approximation is presented by applying the steepest descent method to a modified representation of the background integral. (Auth.)
