Review of clinical value of ANA profile

  • 1. Department of Laboratory Medicine, Central Hospital of Chinese Gas Corporation, Langfang (China)

Description

Autoimmune diseases (AID) are characteried by unknown pathogenesis, as well as atypical clinical symptoms, so the diagnosis and differential diagnosis for AID are more complicated. Since all kind of autoimmune diseases have highly specific antibody, the diagnosis not only depends on the clinical symptoms but also largely on the immunological experiments, especially the detection of antinuclear antibody. The identification and titer testing of ANA can provide great clinic value to the diagnosis, classification, treatment and post-prediction judge for AID. The paper will review the clinical application of ANA and ANA profile. (authors)
