Description
Signal to noise ratio dependence on the radius of cylindrical scintillator (CsI, CdWO4, plastic) of radiometric testing device, using 0.2...5 MeV photon radiation, has been studied theoretically and experimentally. Analytical expressions are obtained. Results of the theoretical and experimental studies permit to evaluate signal to noise ratio for the available dimensions of scintillators or to select the minimum dimensions of scintillator, proceeding from the required signal to noise ratio
