Interest of scintiscanning with indium 111 pentetreotide and technetium 99m sestamibi in the follow up of differentiated thyroid carcinomas. About 39 files

Description

We have studied retrospectively, among 24 patients with a differentiated thyroid carcinoma and susceptible to have a recurrence or non remission, 39 scintiscanning files were realised, with technetium 99m-sestamibi or indium 111 pentetreotide. On the 19 scintiscanning practiced with indium 111 pentetreotide, it is observed 5 centres accumulating the tracer, 3 only correspond to local recurrences or distant metastases, each of ones being non iodine fixing. On the 20 scintiscanning made with technetium 99m sestamibi, it is found for two patients, 6 centres accumulating the tracer, corresponding to ganglions recurrences or distant metastases. The totality of these results do not appear very cheerful and are similar to literature data. (N.C.)
