The new nuclear liabilities law taking into consideration transport

Questions of liability with respect to transport are no major issue for the various initiatives in nuclear liabilities law. The fundamentals of these initiatives as well as the resulting changes in nuclear liabilities law in force at present are depicted in general. Special attention is given to changes due to the following three bills: 1. the two acts relating to the Paris nuclear liabilities protocol and to the Brussels nuclear liabilities protocol, respectively (Federal Gazettes 10/2234 and 10/2231), 2. The national amendment on nuclear liabilities made by the governing coalition parties (Federal Gazette 10/2200), 3. the ratification of an agreement made between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Helvetic Confederacy on liability towards third parties in the field of nuclear energy.
