Diffusion of hydrogen in zirconium foil

  • 1. Inst. of Hydrogen and Solar Energy, Kiev (Ukraine)
  • 2. UAS, Kiev (Ukraine). Inst. for Problems of Materials Science

Description

The authors of present research have used in experiments the atomic hydrogen and metallic foil 25--30 microm thick. It has been supposed that these technical operations will permit excluding the influence of surface and diffusional processes on the rate of Me-H interaction. The series of experiments have been carried out and they confirm this assumption. It has been shown that hydrogenation reaction of zirconium foil in atomic hydrogen conforms to the topochemical model of volume segregation of interaction product, and the rate of its flow is independent of the surface processes and hydrogen diffusion in volume
