In-situ X-ray diffraction investigations on CeVO4 under pressure

Description

Room temperature high pressure angle dispersive X-ray diffraction data on zircon structured CeVO4 using Elettra synchrotron source were collected up to 23.5 GPa. The compound remains stable in the zircon phase till 3.8 GPa. At 4.5 GPa, material undergo a structural phase transition to a monazite (monoclinic modification) phase that is stable up to the highest pressure reached in these measurements. The monazite phase is pressure quenchable. (author)
