Radiation doses to radiosensitive organs during two different chest radiography techniques
Description
The effects of tube angulation and the change in centring point on radiation doses to the chest, eyes and thyroid gland during two different chest radiography techniques are investigated. In the first technique the horizontal X-ray beam is centred to the fourth thoracic vertebra of the patient. The x-ray beam is then collimated to the area of interest. In the second technique the horizontal x-ray beam is again centred to the patient's fourth thoracic vertebra and then angled down to the level of the sixth thoracic vertebra. (UK)
