The structure and properties of metal and metal-ceramic coatings produced by physical vapour deposition

Description
A systematic investigation of the influence of base-alloy composition on the corrosion fatigue life, cyclic strength, thermal fatigue life and thermal stabilities of PVD metal and metal-ceramic coatings has been conducted for a series of Ni-base superalloys differing in their phase composition. The coatings were evaluated by optical and microprobe analyses. Microhardness tests were also conducted to characterize the hardness and mechanical integrity of various coating layers.
