Description
The method of Coulomb dissociation can be applied to the investigation of nuclei and reactions relevant to nuclear astrophysics. General aspects of the theoretical description are discussed. Some experimental results from the electromagnetic breakup of stable and radioactive nuclei are surveyed. Suggestions for future applications are mentioned
