Method of spectrophotometric determination of rare earths and scandium

Description
Selective method for spectrophotometric determination of scandium and rare earth elements in steels at their relation 1:100000 without preliminary separation and partition from other components is presented. Scandium and rare earth elements are transforned to a complex with arsenazo 3 with introduction of sodium salt of molybdic acid, after introduction of molybdate-ions and arsenazo 3 into the second sample fluoboric acid is added in 1.3-1.6 g/l quantity. To determine Sc, measured is difference in optical densities of solutions in the absence of fluoboric acid and in its presence
