Microstructure of Al2O3-ZrO2 sinter and their mechanical properties

Description

The problem of chemical preparation of Al2O3-ZrO2 composite materials have been studied. The hydrothermal method for crystallization of ZrO2 has been investigated. The shape of ZrO2 crystallites in the Al2O3-ZrO2 composite strongly influences the mechanical properties of obtained materials. The anisotropy of mechanical properties of Al2O3-ZrO2 composites has been observed when ZrO2 crystallites had a profit shape. The composite in the form of powders and sintered material have been prepared and their mechanical properties measured. 217 refs. 97 figs, 29 tabs
