Energy and coordinate resolutions of the nonsegmental electromagnetic calorimeter prototype

Energy and coordinate resolutions of nonsegmental lamellar uranium calorimeters, where scintillator transverse cross section constitutes 40x20 and 15x15 cm2, are determined. Comparison of the obtained experimental data with results of calorimeter simulation using GEANT 3.13 program is conducted. The obtained results agree well with analytical expectations for calorimeter with thickness of uranium plate equal both to 0.5 and 0.2 cm. Energy resolution for 26.6 GeV/s pulse electrons constitutes 4.8 and (3.0+-0.05%), respectively, the accuracy of measurement of primary particle inlet coordinate is better than 1 cm. Conclusion is made about possibility to use nonsegmental calorimeters of high transverse cross section in physical experiment
