Structural models of radiation-induced paramagnetic centers in alkali tellurite glasses

Description
The nature of radiation EPR centers in binary alkaline-tellurite glasses is discussed. The paramagnetic properties of electron centers are adequately described by presenting them in the form of oxigen radicals TeO2-. It is suggested that the molecular radical TeO43- is the most likely model of hole centers. The role of alkaline ions in formation of the centers is different: in the vicinity of the centre sup(α)(TeO2-) an alkaline cation is localized while the centre (TeO43-) forms near an alkaline ion vacancy
