Simulated annealing for MHD equilibria with flow and/or magnetic island

Description

As a new method of MHD equilibrium calculation, the authors propose simulated annealing. By solving the artificial evolution equation derived based on the fact that the ideal MHD equation is written using Hamiltonian and Poisson brackets, it is possible to lead energy to the extremum while maintaining the invariant underlying in the MHD equation. This energy extremum is MHD equilibrium. This paper firstly describes the general theory on the formularization with symmetrical brackets used when applying simulated annealing to MHD. Then as a specific example, it shows the motion of an incompressible neutral fluid on a two-dimensional plane and low-beta simplified MHD that are considered as the simplest specific example as a partial differential equation system. Next this paper introduces, in the cylindrical plasma, the simulation results where the steady solution containing magnetic island has been obtained as the energy minimum state using the low-beta simplified MHD. 磁気流体力学(MagnetoHydroDynamics, MHD)平衡計算の新しい方法として,疑似アニーリングを提案している.理想MHD方程式がハミルトニアンとPoisson括弧を用いて書かれることに基づき導いた人工的な発展方程式を解くことにより,MHD方程式に内在する不変量を保持したままエネルギーを極値へと導くことができる.このエネルギー極値がMHD平衡である.プラズマ流や磁気面の存在について特別な仮定をしないので,従来のMHD平衡計算法で求められるものより広いクラスの平衡を求められる可能性がある.本稿では疑似アニーリングの考え方を簡単な例を用いて説明し,MHDへの適用について定式化および計算例を示す.(著者)
