Description
Somatic and genetic radiation effects are distinguished. The reason for radiation protection is to prevent non-stochastic effects and to restrict stochastic effects to reasonable limits. Non-stochastic effects can be prevented by means of dose equivalent limits. Dose equivalent limits for radiation workers and the public are dealt with. The greatest part of the dose equivalent are made up of background radiation and diagnostic x radiation
