Emergency core cooling water spray system

Description

Purpose: To enable effective cooling for fuel channels by preventing upward splushing of water injected near the by-pass flow region in the periphery of the upper grid in the shroud of a reactor core. Constitution: A vertical deflector plate is provided on the exit of an injection water guide flow path in a reactor core shroud. The water injected to the injection pipeway is discharged downwardly by the deflector plate after passing through the guide flow path downwardly to the reactor core. The upward splush of the injection water in the by-pass flow region in the periphery of the upper grid is thus eliminated, whereby the water sprayed from the spray system can be fallen in the region with no hindrance.
