Mechanical and optical characteristics of glass components during the interaction with nuclear radiation and electron beams

Description

For glasses produced in domestic laboratories, some optical performances (coefficient of transparency) are analyzed in the UV, visible and IR range. Under specified conditions of the geometry and irradiation, the glass samples of different type were exposed to the electron beams, used in therapeutic purposes. The transparency measurement of the same samples is performed with time delay. For quartz fiber some analyses were done of mechanical characteristics as well as some possible mechanism of nuclear and ionized radiation effects on the mechanical characteristics in the production and exploitation processes.
