Role of radiotherapy in the treatment of pituitary adenoma

Description
The paper is devoted to analysis of the present-day role of radiotherapy of pituitay adenomas with relation to tumor spreading and the patient's neuroendocrine status. The results are presented of γ-beam therapy, proton-beam therapy and radiosurgical implantation of 90Y granules used alone as well as in combination with surgical intervention. Basing on the analysis of the clinical data on 320 patients, a conclusion was made of the indicaions for one or another method depending on a stage and course of disease
