Description

In modern understanding, the pulsar magnetosphere is filled with an electron-positron plasma. The plasma flows along the magnetic field force lines at relativistic rates. The distribution function describing this plasma has a long tail. This work is aimed at consideration of the possible mechanism of particle acceleration of the distribution function tail, as determined by non-linear and quasilinear processes. To choose the type of waves that can take part in acceleration of particles, the linear theory of waves propagating in an electron-positron plasma is briefly considered. Quasilinear interaction of cyclotron waves with plasma particles is considered. The matrix element of induced wave scattering on plasma particles is calculated and the role of this process in the extension of the particle distribution function tail is considered
