Free-fall sources of gravitational radiation and the failure of the quadrupole formula

  • 1. Department of Physics, University of Victoria

Description

The role of nonlinearities and structure dependence in gravitational radiation emission from gravitationally bounded free-fall systems is discussed. The Bondi news function confirms the failure of the quadrupole formalism, the origin of which is delineated. A new model for analyzing the emission of gravitational energy loss from a binary system is presented
