Isotope separation by laser-photochemistry
Description
In this article the spectroscopic isotope effect of atoms in general (mass effect, nuclear volume effect, nuclear spin effect) and of molecules is reviewed, a historical survey is given, the isotope enrichment by laser radiation is described, especially the isotope separation by gradual photoionization of atoms, of molecules, as well as the isotope selective photochemical reactions, the predissociation, the infrared-photochemistry and multi-IR-photon dissociation. Der Uebersichtsartikel behandelt den spektroskopischen Isotopieeffekt von Atomen allgemein (Masseneffekt, Kernvolumeneffekt, Kernspineffekt) und von Molekuelen, gibt einen historischen Ueberblick, beschreibt die Isotopenanreicherung durch Laserstrahlung, und zwar die Isotopentrennung durch stufenweise Photoionisation von Atomen, von Molekuelen sowie die isotopenselektiven photochemischen Reaktionen, die Praedissoziation, die Infrarotphotochemie und Multi-IR-Photonendissoziation.
