Fluorite-like aspect of Ca8In3 and Mg5Ga2 crystal structures

Description

A scheme reflecting the relationship between fluorite, fluorite-like superstructures and solid solutions with intermetallides Ca8In3, Mg5Ga2 and relative compounds is proposed. It is shown that the structural mechanism of interstition of additional metal atoms to the ratio of components 2:1 in intermetallides is identical to that of interstition of F atoms, proposed for fluorite-like solid solutions MF2+x, based on substitution of M4F23 clusters for M4F26 ones
